OBJECTIVE Section 3 to the MTPA Act defines the Objective of the Agency as follows: To provide for the sustainable management and promotion of tourism and nature conservation in the Province and to ensure the sustainable utilisation of natural resources. In pursuing its objects, the Agency shall – Provide for effective management and conservation of bio-diversity and eco-systems within the Province; develop and ensure effective management of protected areas; foster, promote and sustainably develop and market tourism; Promote and create socio-economic growth and transformation within the tourism and conservation industry, thereby creating economic and employment opportunities for previously disadvantaged individuals and local communities in the Province.
