Clover is looking for a Manager: Business Development to investigate via different channels to find partners to expand food operations in the South and Sub-Saharan Africa region and establish new and maintain ongoing potential partner relations. 

Requirements    

Honours degree in Food Science 
5-7 years related experinece 
Relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level
Experience in working with senior management
People management experience
Business English: Fluent
Computer literacy (Advanced)
Code 08 Driver’s license
Travel off-site/ overnight stay
Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities    
Establish and identify new business relations  

Ensure effective business relations are established and a point of interest is initiated
Prepare post meeting summary and business analysis/due diligence and establish if further discussions are necessary and present to business project team
Provide information required for financial analysis and business case from potential partner
Maintain ongoing relations and communication with unsuccessful potential partners to ensure possible change in interest
Maintain relationship until completed and successful transition

Investigate different channels to find partners to expand food operations in South and Sub-Saharan Africa             

Conduct technical due diligence exercises
Evaluate potential Co-Packers and/or joint ventures
Ensure reliability, right cost and quality
Ensure legal compliance                         

Manage projects in new countries              

Draw up a master plan for the proposed project
Prepare the estimated cost to apply for required CAPEX in terms of Production and Supply Chain
Nominate members for the project team
Report regularly on project progress
Submit final proposal for approval
Do tracking to meet with set due dates
Provide support to ensure successful transition to either Co-Packer management or Clover integration  

Investigate the current internal market to establish potential              

Evaluate suitable partners to meet Clover standards        

Ensure acceptable quality, equipment and service levels
Evaluate the potential for production capacity
Liaise with internal team members
Determine and motivate delivery potential on required products

Report on assignments        

Give ongoing feedback on progress and barriers
Ensure progress and provide accurate information to Management  

Manage staff                

Ensure optimal utilisation of staff
Apply consistent discipline
Train and develop staff
Conduct warehouse meetings and ensure effective communication to all
Liaise and communicate with management in all departments
Set objectives, manage and measure performance of subordinates
