Afrimat Industries is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician with 3-5 years’ experience in process plant production. In this role the successful candidate will play a key role in production optimisation and instrument control.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies
National N Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Instrumentation).
3-5 years’ experience in a process plant production. Practical experience of cement manufacturing (plant and process) will be an added advantage.
Sound electrical knowledge.
Skilled in problem solving and fault finding in a mining/process environment.
Firm understanding of PLC fundamentals.
Able to work alone and as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
Maintain existing instrumentation throughout the plant.
Plan and execute new instrument installations.
Investigate faulty equipment and resolve the fault.
Must be willing to work overtime to resolve breakdowns
Prioritize and complete assigned tasks based on urgency and plant availability.
Initiate, execute, and close Work Orders promptly, including providing necessary feedback and completing associated reports.
Submit daily progress updates and reports to the Supervisor, highlighting completed work, schedule variances, delays, and proposed corrective actions.
Collaborate with other trades to get work completed.
