Mandate To develop, utilise and manage nuclear technology for national and regional socio-economic development through: Applied R&D; Commercial application of nuclear and associated technology; Contributing to the development of skills in science and technology.

Key Performance Areas:

Technical Services and Support

Supervise technical and support services.
Implement and assemble enhanced systems independently.
Investigate and present solutions to non-routine technical problems.

Design and Development

Lead and complete the design of systems, independently and while leading a technical team.
Contribute to feasibility studies of a fundamental project within specifications.

Human Capital Development

Provide coaching and training to individuals/small technical team.
Guide the development of technical skills of individuals in the field of competence.

SHEQ and Other Audits

Actively utilize the Necsa Business Process Management System.
Integrate all activities and systems to comply with SHEQ requirements.

Financial Management

Responsible for the successful and cost-effective execution of specific tasks relevant to a project.
Assist with the costing of technical items to be used in the budgeting of projects.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

National Diploma in Instrumentation or equivalent.
6 – 7 years’ relevant work experience in Instrumentation and Electrical of which 3 years must be in a supervisory role.
