Role purpose 

Carry out set of development trials for seeds, through series of reliable and quality of on and off-site trials for the ARS Market segments. 
Precise data collection (yield, moisture and agronomic data) using available operational tools. 
To manage off-site nurseries following compliance and SOPs as per guidelines 
Liaise with local agricultural groups, agronomists, crop consultants, other industry bodies and Govt. organisations to manage changes in agronomy practices, technology and support in evaluation and development of Syngenta technologies. 
Following compliance and safety and QM culture in trialing as per Syngenta policy. 
Provide technical support to all ARS function for greenhouse activities, nurseries and trialing activities. 
Dedication to understanding and reaching operational and financial KPI targets. 

Accountabilities

To conduct an agreed number of field trials through all stages from initial planning to completion of final reports with minimal or no supervision. 
Deliver quality field trials through proper site selection, grower’s liaison, plot arrangement, layout, and application of treatments as per protocol and other inputs to insure proper trial execution. 
Monitoring trial and update the trials status as evolving work placement and tracking of trials in country/territory. 
MINT material registrations and material management. 
Capture trials data in field supporting data delivery to SPIRIT for assigned crop/indication trials as per defined deadline. 
Keep effective linkages with Product Selection Lead, Breeding, growers/off site owner/Trialing Crop Team Manager. 
Ensure proper training program for technicians and growers (if required) for increasing operational efficiency. 
Organize the field visits with timely intimation and involvement of stakeholders. 
Implement QM initiative to enhance trial quality through proactive non-conformity and issue management. 
Strict follow-up of HSES policies and compliance as per Syngenta guidelines.

Ownership of breeding and harvesting equipment, maintenance and improvements. 
Managing overtime and temporary labour optimally. 
Develop strong networking of innovative, dynamic, resourceful and opinion maker grower for managing the trials.

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

Basic understanding of technical aspects of crops pesticides, pests and agronomy. 
Basic knowledge reading and interpreting of layout of experiments. 
Good written and communication skills. 

Critical experience

5-10 years working experience of all aspects of field experimentation 
Knowledge of technical/agronomic aspects of crops/indication is desirable.

Critical technical, leadership and personal capabilities

Deep understanding of local language and culture. 
Basic knowledge of crops agronomy and technical aspects. 
Basic idea in use of office software and Standard Information Technology tools. 
Patience, proactive and good foresight fluency in English and local language. 
Ownership of breeding and harvesting equipment, maintenance and improvements.
