G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Senior Technician based at our operations in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, reporting to the Branch Project Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Senior Technician plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Main Responsibilities
Effective management and administration of the technology contract to ensure sound financial performance
Plan and manage SLA contracts with a focus on maintenance, sustainability, cost effectiveness and labour.

Effective management of operations
Co-coordinating the Maintenance/Project process flow and activities that has a direct/indirect impact on the outcome and success of contract/project.
Plan and coordinate daily tasks and subordinates, with close monitoring of standards and hours.
Client retention and customer service levels
Maintenance of positive customer relationships
Quality Management/Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard
Conduct and oversee quality controls and inspections
Health and Safety
Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
Attend safety education and refresher programs
Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
Qualification and Experience
Grade 12 / Matric Equivalent
Valid Driver´s Licence
Formal Technical Training advantageous
3 -5 years Electronic Security Services /Maintenance experience
Extensive experience with regards to implementation of the following systems:
CCTV
Access Control Focussed
Intruder Detection
Software Knowledge Level
Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance.
Broad knowledge of Access Control.
Basic knowledge of CCTV
Strong knowledge base on communication protocols i.e. TCP/IP.
Strong Computer literacy and proficiency.
Hardware Knowledge Level
Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance Hardware
Broad knowledge of Access Control Hardware.
Basic knowledge of CCTV
Basic knowledge of Alarms
Basic knowledge of Electric Fencing
Broad knowledge of Gate Motors
Basic knowledge of Intercoms
Basic knowledge of PA systems
Strong knowledge base on communication protocol wiring i.e. CAT5.
