Purpose:

Overseeing daily operations in the sales department for the region. Manage and coordinate a group of KWV Business Development Representatives by providing leadership, direction and guidance.

This also includes hiring and training sales staff, relaying information from senior management to sales teams about sales targets in order to ensure the following:

Volume & Value growth
Maximizing Profitability
Brand awareness
Operational efficiency
Delivering Brilliant Execution

Job Summary:

Planning of monthly sales targets as per budget, broken down by area, Business Development Representativetrade channel and customer
Manage and build relationships with 3rd party merchandising business partners
Forecast depot stock requirements weekly
Trade visits and completion of Accompaniment reports
Coaching sales staff
Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions and campaigns
Planning and directing the hiring and training of new appointments within the team
Preparing sales budgets, projections and approving expenditures
Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients
Defining and executing territory sales plans

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 and relevant tertiary qualification in either Sales, Business Management or Marketing
5-Years relevant experience in sales or customer marketing within an FMCG environment
5-Years’ experience in the liquor Industry, specifically in the Off Trade and Main Market will be advantageous
Excellent negotiating, analytical, problem-solving, planning, organizing and communication skills
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Frequent business travel and possible sleep over within the Region
IT literacy
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle and willing to travel within the region

Ability to coach, mentor and guide sales staff
