Identify the correct product application
Manage blasting crew at the working area
Identify Hazards and complete necessary documentation
Complete blast reports
Work with mine personnel on safety and quality issues
Attend meetings when necessary
Oversee charging of holes and blasting of blocks
Draw explosive from magazine
Transport explosives to blasting area
Measure and prime holes
Supervise blasting team closing holes
Tie up of blast
Placing of guards for blasting
Inspection of blasted area
Requirements
Grade 12 (Must)
National Rock Breaking Certificate for Opencast (Must)
Daveytronics knowledge in opencast mining (Advantage)
Code 8 or 10 driver’s license (must)
1 – 3 years’ experience of opencast blasting
