As enjoined by legislation, the district municipality seeks to achieve the integrated, sustainable and equitable social and economic development of its area as a whole. This is done by- (a) ensuring integrated development planning for the district as a whole, (b) promoting bulk infrastructural development and services for the district as a whole, (c) building the capacity of local municipalities in its area to perform their functions and exercise their powers where such capacity is lacking; and (d) promoting the equitable distribution of resources between the local municipalities in its area to ensure appropriate levels of municipal services within the area. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Risk Management/Accounting or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years relevant experience of which 3 in supervisory capacity
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND UNDERSTANDING:
To identify existing and potential risks to which the municipality is exposed and, provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting on integrated risk related policies and risk practice in the municipality.
SUMMARY OF CORE FUNCTIONS:
Provide Risk and Security Management strategic support to the municipality.
Manage and coordinate the development and implementation of security management, fraud and crime prevention policy and strategy.
Provide operational reports and manage stakeholder relationships.
SALARY : R1 146 154.90 PER ANNUM (INCLUDING BENEFITS)
