Section 179(2) of the Constitution empowers the National Prosecuting Authority to institute criminal proceedings on behalf of the State and to carry out any necessary functions incidental to instituting criminal proceedings.
REQUIREMENTS :
A qualification at NQF level 7 in Law/ International Relations/Military/Police/Political Science or equivalent as recognised by SAQA. Nyukela Certificate (Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Service from the school of Government).
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience at middle management in a law enforcement / criminal justice environment.
Demonstrable competency in acting Independently, Professionally, Accountable and with Credibility. High level of understanding of and competency in people protection. Competency in at least two (2) official languages, one (1) of which must be English (multi-linguistic skills will be advantageous).
DUTIES :
Manage and coordinate the provision of provincial operation and strategic support for the witness protection programme. Manage and coordinate the assessment for admission of witnesses into the witness protection programme. Administer the processes for the OWP. Manage stakeholder relations. Generic management functions.
