Description

An opportunity exists for 2x Assistant Chefs, reporting to the Head Chef. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and presenting all foodstuffs as per required standard at the hospital as well as assisting the Head Chef in ensuring patients receive nutritious, safe, and appetizing meals that support health and recovery.

Critical Outputs

Prepare meals, snacks and functions correctly and timeously.
Ensure that all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
Support the Head Chef in menu planning, portion control, and food presentation.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
Assist in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste.
Provide meals on time to meet patient schedules and ward requirements.
Ensure ability to operate all equipment
Assist with regular stock-takes as and when required
Prepare and cook meals according to hospital dietary guidelines and patient needs.

Requirements

Minimum of a Culinary Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification.
2 years relevant experience in private healthcare advantageous.
Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP) and hospital dietary standards
Ability to work flexible hours (e.g. Weekends and public holidays.)
