Mandate To develop, utilise and manage nuclear technology for national and regional socio-economic development through: Applied R&D; Commercial application of nuclear and associated technology; Contributing to the development of skills in science and technology.
Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE
Supports the Section Head/Foreman in daily operations.
Maintains efficient technical systems across all facilities
Perform technical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC technical systems, machinery, and equipment.
Conduct inspections and tests of technical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
Diagnose and resolve HVAC technical faults and issues in a timely manner.
Assist in planning and executing technical projects, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Timeous return of completed Job Cards to Planning Office for capturing and recoveries.
SHEQ & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Adhere to local, national, and international mechanical codes and safety regulations.
Follow safety protocols and participate in safety training and meetings.
Perform regular checks and maintenance on safety equipment.
Contribute to maintaining a culture of safety within the team.
Conduct BBS observations
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Deliver high-quality maintenance services with minimal downtime.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to address technical maintenance issues.
Ensure prompt and accurate completion of job cards.
Aim for high customer satisfaction ratings by minimizing rework and defects
Ensure Customer Job Card Rating is done on all defect job cards.
Minimise non- conformances on work done
FINANCIAL EXPENDITURE
Assist in managing inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment.
Report any discrepancies or needs for replacement of tools and equipment.
Support cost-effective practices in mechanical maintenance tasks.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Assist in managing inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment.
Report any discrepancies or needs for replacement of tools and equipment.
Support cost-effective practices in mechanical maintenance tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
National Diploma in HVAC or Mechanical Engineering.
With HVAC/refrigeration experience
Authorised Gas Practitioner Certificate / Permit
Driver’s License (Compulsory)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in HVAC operations as a technician
Good knowledge of Necsa site facilities, HVAC system and HVAC safety equipment
Computer literacy
