Main Purpose:
The Apprenticeship programme is a well-known technical training system, including practical and theoretical components offered in designated trades to achieve artisan status.
Key Performance Areas:
The apprenticeship spans over a minimum period of 36 months.
The candidates will have to complete the prescribed merSETA modules (Theoretical and Practical) and gain job experience during the period to qualify for a trade test.
The candidates will have to pass the applicable trade test to qualify as an Artisan before the end of the apprenticeship period.
At the end of the apprenticeship and successful completion of the Trade test the candidate will have a formal qualification equivalent to NQF level 4 as a Qualified Artisan in Boilermaking or Welding.
Complete various tasks/assignments as allocated by the Mentor/Training Officer.
Provide practical support to production/site as and when required.
Preferred Requirements:
Grade 12 with Mathematics (Not Mathematics Literacy) and Physical Science/N2.
N2 with subjects relevant to the trades (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Platers Theory and Platers Drawings) would be advantageous.
Physically and medically fit.
Clear criminal record.
35 years of age or younger.
Proof of residence (municipality account).
No accommodation or transport will be provided and therefore successful candidates will have to be willing to relocate to Bethal or the surrounding areas if they do not already live locally.
Candidates applying for the positions must reside within a 50 km radius of Kriel Power Station in Mpumalanga.
