Children’s Ages: 22 month old – Girl and Newborn due June
Working hours: Hours until November 2026 will be Monday – Friday 11:00 – 18:00, from November 2026 onward will be Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00
School holiday hours: Same as above / Slightly Flexible
Duties: While the mother is on maternity leave (approximately 4–6 months), duties will include school collection, preparing meals, assisting with nap time, and engaging the child in educational play and age-appropriate activities, including extra curriculars such as music class.
Once mom returns to work, responsibilities will transition to full-day care of the newborn and toddler, including feeding, routines, developmental stimulation, outings, and general care. Additional duties include collecting from school, transporting to extracurricular activities, appointments or lessons, preparing light snacks or meals, assisting with ensuring school bags are ready for the next day, and maintaining a structured, nurturing environment for both children.
Special Requirements: The family is seeking a long-term candidate and is not considering students. A valid driver’s license is essential. The ideal candidate should be experienced with young children and infants, dependable, flexible when needed, and able to provide consistent, high-quality care within a working household. Both parents are working full-time and this will not change. Leave over this December only won’t be possible as mom will be back at work after her maternity leave.
Salary:
Salary until end of November 2026 (Monday – Friday 11:00 – 18:00) – R13 000 per month.
Salary from November 2026 onward (Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00) – R16 000 per month (Gross, before deductions)
All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:
Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
Must have a clear criminal record
Must have a passion for children
Must have Matric
Must have a South African ID document.
