Role Summary
The Business Consultant is responsible for driving revenue growth by building and converting a high-quality pipeline of FX clients through strategic partner relationships.
The role is segment-focused — primarily within the Legal and/or Property sectors — and requires a proactive, target-driven individual who can develop referral networks, manage client relationships from enquiry through to executed trad, and contribute to the company’s broader commercial ecosystem, including cross-selling complementary services such as tax and estate planning.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Pipeline
Deliver consistently against monthly, quarterly, and annual ONP targets in line with company strategy
Build, manage, and convert a strong active pipeline across your assigned segment (Legal and/or Property)
Generate, progress, and close new business through proactive outreach, cold-calling, and referral activation
Identify client FX needs and provide tailored, compliant foreign exchange solutions
Partner & Network Development
Build and manage strategic referral relationships with attorneys, conveyancers, accountants, wealth advisors, and real estate professionals
Support Introducing Partners end-to-end: from initial enquiry through onboarding, KYC, and trade readiness
Develop and formalise referral agreements within your network, contributing to the company’s scalable, segment-based partner model
Expand their regional presence through targeted business development and network growth
Cross-Sell & Broader Client Value
Position and cross-sell complementary services — including tax, AIT (Annual Investment Threshold), and estate planning — as part of a complete client solution
Route clients to appropriate specialists where relevant, acting as a trusted first point of contact for their broader financial needs
Planning & Performance
Develop and execute a structured sales plan with regular performance tracking and pipeline reporting
Maintain accurate records in the CRM and provide timely updates on pipeline and deal progress

High ethical standards with adherence to all regulatory requirements (FSCA, FAIS, SARB exchange control)
Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders across sectors — from attorneys and conveyancers to HNW private clients
Solid understanding of FX products, sales processes, and the client lifecycle
Effective planning: ability to develop and execute segment sales plans with consistent performance tracking
Adaptable and responsive to market changes and evolving client needs
Accountable, decisive, and solution-oriented under pressure

Legal (Late Estates and Conveyancing)

Qualifications & Experience
Matric (essential)
RE qualification and FAIS compliance (preferred)
Relevant business, legal, or financial qualification (advantageous)
Proven sales experience, ideally within financial services or a professional referral-based environment
Demonstrated ability to self-generate pipeline and build relationships from scratch
