Purpose of the position:
Community Programme coordnator role will focus on establishing and maintaining partnerships with the CSS Medium and Small Grant CBOs and FBOs, local coordinating forum on health and or AIDS; and representing the AYP programme at those fora. This role is also ideally placed to manage and update the sub-district-based services directory for easy service plan referrals and report on the Human Rights Violations
Minimum Requirements
Diploma / NQF level 6 is essential
Minimum 2 years’ experience in lobbying/support/human rights or programming in the public health or HIV field
Experience in establishing partnerships within a CSS Medium and Small grant CBOs and FBOs
Experience in AYP health, social and legal rights
Experience in harm reduction and AYP programming beneficial
Experience in conducting training
Computer proficiency in MS Office is essential
Ability to travel as and when required
Clear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities
Establishing, maintaining and supporting the rights and needs of AYP in selected district
Playing a key role in networking and engagement with district stakeholders
Conduct sensitisation training to stakeholders per quarter including reporting on human rights activities.
Co-facilitate community dialogues related to human rights and human rights violations of AYP to publicize, encourage reporting and minimize human rights violations
Participate in sub-district level meetings
Ensure linkages to the district AYP networks are made within the district
Identify gaps of services for AYP and strategies with the programme team to ensure they are filled
Engage with, build and strengthen the capacity of the AYP network in the district
Represent the programme with integrity at meetings and engagements and respond to all programme requests from external parties
Supervise the activities of the peer educators and Human Rights Ambassadors
Work closely with the AYP to ensure successful referral and follow-up
Support on identifying AYP in need of further psychosocial support
Address any challenges and performance related issues to the programme manager
Train peer educators and Human Rights Ambassadors on standard operating procedure (SOP) and data tools
Review service map online tool for new services & update service map tool (monthly / quarterly)
Document and refer human rights reported abuses and violations to Paralegal (At PR level)
Document and submit monthly human rights violations report
Report cases to Paralegal for further support with investigation/analysis and appropriate referral and linkage to support services
Document beneficiary testimonies
Compile monthly beneficiary testimony and narrative report
Management of the outcome of all referrals
