What We’re Looking For:

We’re actively seeking a Deal Desk Support Specialist to join our vibrant team and assume a pivotal role in enabling Meltwater’s commercial teams to successfully close high-value opportunities. As a Deal Desk Support Specialist, you’ll report to the Manager of EMEA Deal Desk and be responsible for managing the CPQ administration process and providing support across various Deal Desk functions. Additionally, the Deal Desk Support Specialist contributes to the overall order-to-cash process at Meltwater, working closely with commercial teams through any related queries.
This role is based in Cape Town, with a requirement to work US EST hours 2 days per week to support global stakeholders. You’ll gain exposure to cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, and Operations, with opportunities to grow into more strategic Deal Desk or Sales Operations roles over time.

Working hours:

Two days a week SAST 1pm to 10pm (Work from home)
Three days a week normal SAST work-hours (Hybrid)

What You’ll Do:

Deal Desk Support:

Provide operational and administrative assistance to Sales teams in CPQ and CRM.
Assist in evaluating deal economics, against business rules and operational requirements.
Support deal approvals, reviews, and compliance assurance processes.
Partner with global Sales teams to drive efficient deal execution and provide support across multiple regions.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline and improve Deal Desk processes.
Assist in implementing standardized methodologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Sales Efficiency and Business Rules:

Identify opportunities for improved sales efficiency and proactively work with sales to implement new business rules.
Maintain familiarity with all business rules and understand their context to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Systems and Communication:

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of CRM and CPQ systems to effectively navigate and utilize them in deal management processes.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, ensuring compliance and integrity in all dealings.

What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
2+ years of experience in Sales Operations or Deal Desk, equivalent experience within a Meltwater commercial team 
Proficiency in Sales business systems
Knowledge of CPQ, Salesforce, Jira and NetSuite a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in English required; additional languages are a plus.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
