SANSA was created to promote the use of space and strengthen cooperation in space-related activities while fostering research in space science, advancing scientific engineering through developing human capital, and supporting industrial development in space technologies. The research and work carried out at SANSA focuses on Earth observation, space science, space engineering and space operations. Much of this work involves monitoring the Earth for policy and decision making, resource and disaster management, food security and national security. SANSA also provides state-of-the-art facilities to monitor space weather, provide launch support and data downloads as well as supporting the growth of the local space industry. Key performance areas will include, but not limited to:

Designing and aligning the Space Operations financial strategy and plan to the overall SANSA financial strategy
Project financial management 
Assets management
Stakeholder and service provider liaison 
Budget (MTEF & APP) 
Financial reporting
Audit management 
Budgets and forecasting
Human capital management 

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

A minimum of a Degree (NQF level 7) in Accounting or Finance
A Postgraduate Diploma or Degree (NQF level 8) in Accounting or Finance or Chartered Accountant certification would be advantageous
At least 8 years of accounting or finance experience in an operational/technical environment at the management level with turnover exceeding R500 million
Experience in asset management and foreign currency transactions with international business clientele 
Strong knowledge of GRAP, PFMA and National Treasury regulations
Ability to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Valid driver’s license
