Requirements for Lecturer:
A PhD (in Pure Mathematics or a related field) at the time of appointment.
A record of research that indicates strong potential in the field, including one or more publications in ISI accredited peer reviewed journals and possible conference attendance.
The ability to teach a range of courses in Pure Mathematics at both introductory and senior undergraduate level (including service courses) and give specialist lectures at Honours (4th year) level.
Additional requirements for Senior Lecturer:
Substantial lecturing experience of Pure Mathematics courses at undergraduate and/or Honours level.
A record of postgraduate supervision, including graduated MSc or PhD students.
An established track record as a researcher with national or international impact.
Experience as an effective administrator e.g. as a course convenor.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mathematics (within and beyond the Faculty of Science).
Developing and pursuing an active research program, including supervising postgraduate students.
Course convening, departmental and faculty administration and leadership duties.
