Minimum Requirements

A Master of Engineering (MEng) or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 9 in Engineering, with an undergraduate qualification in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering (Light Current), with a specialisation in electronic and computer engineering or a closely related field.
A minimum of three (3) years’ teaching, professional, or relevant industrial experience in electronic and computer engineering or related engineering disciplines.
Must be currently registered for, or willing to immediately register with, the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).

Additional Recommendations

Demonstrable experience in telecommunication engineering, including communication systems, digital and/or analogue communications, signal processing, wireless and mobile communications, networking, RF and microwave systems, or related technologies.
Must be currently registered for, or willing to immediately register for and pursue, a doctoral (PhD) qualification in Engineering
Proven research experience, including postgraduate student supervision.
Evidence of a recent research publication record in an accredited journal. 

 Summary of duties

Lecture, assess, and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Take responsibility for a minimum of two (2) modules per semester, in line with the Department’s fair workload model.
Develop, review, and continuously improve teaching and learning materials, and contribute to or lead curriculum development initiatives.
Supervise undergraduate capstone projects as well as postgraduate research projects.
Participate in departmental administration and other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or delegated authority.
Serve, on a rotational basis, as Chairperson of a subject-level committee. 
Conduct research and publish in DHET-accredited journals.
