Specific Tasks and Outcomes

General Office Maintenance

Conduct routine inspections of office buildings to identify maintenance needs.
Perform general repairs on desks, chairs, doors, shelving, fixtures, and basic office equipment.
Maintain clean, safe, and functional working environments across allocated areas.
Respond timeously to maintenance requests logged by departments.

Repairs and Maintenance

Perform basic electrical maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, plug points, and minor electrical repairs within safety guidelines.
Identify electrical faults and escalate issues requiring certified electricians.
Ensure compliance with safety standards when conducting all electrical-related tasks.
Conduct basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and repairing taps, toilets, and washbasins.
Report major plumbing issues to management team and/or relevant service providers.
Ensure all plumbing points in common areas remain functional and hygienic.
Perform touch-up painting, patching, and minor wall repairs as required.
Maintain aesthetic standards of office areas, ensuring spaces remain presentable.

Asset & Equipment Maintenance

Carry out routine checks and minor repairs on company equipment and furniture.
Maintain an updated record of repairs conducted on office assets.
Ensure equipment is safely transported when moved internally or externally.
Movement and Transportation of Items Between Properties
Assist with relocation of furniture, office equipment, and other assets between company properties as required.
Safely load, transport, and offload items, ensuring no damage occurs during movement.
Support office setups and reconfigurations for events, training, or departmental changes.

Safety, Compliance & Reporting

Adhere to all health and safety regulations during maintenance work.
Report hazards, damaged infrastructure, or potential risks promptly.
Keep accurate logs of maintenance work completed and outstanding tasks.
Assist in emergency maintenance situations as needed.
Tools, Equipment, and Inventory Management
Maintain all tools and maintenance equipment in good working condition, ensuring proper storage, cleaning, and safe handling.
Conduct routine inspections of tools to identify wear, damage, or the need for replacement or repair.
Ensure all tools, consumables, and materials required for maintenance tasks are available and well-stocked.
Manage inventory of supplies (e.g., paint, plumbing consumables, electrical components, hardware items) and report shortages timeously.
Keep accurate records of tools issued, returned, repaired, or replaced.
Ensure company tools and equipment are used responsibly and only for authorised work purposes.
Implement and follow proper procedures for signing out, tracking, and securing tools to prevent loss or misuse.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

All maintenance activities are performed in compliance with health and safety standards and company policies.
Incident or safety hazards identified during work are reported and documented immediately.
Appropriate protective equipment is used at all times during maintenance tasks.
Workspace safety inspections contribute to maintaining a safe working environment with reduced maintenance-related incidents.

Personal Development

Engage in continuous learning, complete development plans, and stay informed on current events.
Completing Individual Development Plan.
Attending a minimum of 2 learning and development initiatives bi-annually.
Participating in peer and team learning initiatives

Requirements

Do you hold a National Senior Certificate?
Do you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a similar role ?
