Job Description
CFW Environmental is an air systems engineering company, part of the CFW Industries group established in 1966. We focus primarily on large turnkey projects, and manage the entire development process, from design to manufacture, installation and commissioning.
CFW has extensive experience in fan and air technology engineering. The industries we serve include the mining, power generation, industrial processing, agricultural, marine / fishing, poultry, commercial and HVAC sectors
The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering. We are currently seeking an Applications Engineer to work with a team of mechanical engineers with ventilation projects.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone who values career stability and wants to join a collaborative team experiencing significant project growth. The successful candidate will take ownership of ventilation and air handling projects from concept through to commissioning. Responsibilities will include:
Interpret client specifications, tender documents, and technical requirements.
Designing and selecting appropriate ventilation and fan systems
Prepare technical proposals, equipment schedules, and detailed costings.
Engaging with clients to clarify requirements and present technical solutions
Liaising with draughting, production, and installation teams to ensure practical and cost-effective designs.
Providing commissioning support and technical troubleshooting when required.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Attending site visits and client meetings as needed.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role
Experience in ventilation, HVAC, fan systems, or industrial air movement applications will be advantageous
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
