We are looking for a Cape Town based strategist who champions a modern approach to connected experiences, customer ecosystems, and integrated communications powered by insight, technology, data, creativity, and human understanding.
This role requires someone who can contribute across:
digital and integrated strategy,
commerce and customer experience thinking,
connected communications planning,
research and insight generation,
presentation development,
reporting interpretation,
and ecosystem thinking.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior strategy leadership across retained client business and new business opportunities, helping shape work that sits at the intersection of technology, creativity, commerce, culture, data, and human behaviour.
You should be comfortable navigating fast-paced environments, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
Support and contribute to the development of integrated digital, commerce, CX, communications, and customer experience strategies.
Contribute to strategic thinking across client business, transformation initiatives, and new business opportunities.
Conduct audience, category, competitor, cultural, behavioural, and platform research to uncover actionable insights.
Translate research, cultural signals, behavioural insights, and data into actionable strategic recommendations and presentation-ready storytelling.
Support the creation of pitch responses, strategic presentations, workshop outputs, and client-facing documentation.
Assist in developing connected ecosystem frameworks and experience thinking across digital touchpoints.
Bring modern integrated marketing and customer experience thinking into strategic outputs across channels and platforms.
Contribute to internal thought leadership, innovation initiatives, and capability development.
Leverage AI and emerging technologies responsibly to improve workflow efficiency, synthesis, and strategic exploration.
Form collaborative relationships across agency capabilities, partner teams, and third parties where required.
Qualifications
This role requires a strong strategic foundation (5 -6 years’ experience), combined with the ability to navigate fast-moving integrated environments and contribute meaningfully across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
5 years’ experience in digital strategy, integrated strategy, communications planning, commerce strategy, customer experience strategy, social strategy, or integrated marketing
Previous agency experience preferred
Strong understanding of digital ecosystems, platform behaviour, commerce, customer experience, and integrated marketing environments
Proven ability to contribute to strategic development across digital campaigns, commerce, content, customer experience, social, and integrated communications workstreams
Comfortable conducting multi-faceted research and distilling key insights into actionable strategic thinking
Strong analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to balance data, creativity, and human behaviour
Strong presentation development, synthesis, and storytelling skills
Excellent written and verbal communication ability
Comfortable interpreting data, audience insights, behavioural signals, and performance reporting
Able to work collaboratively across strategy, creative, media, social, data, commerce, and technology teams
Strong communicator and presenter with the ability to articulate strategic thinking clearly and confidently
Naturally curious about culture, consumer behaviour, technology, commerce, and emerging digital trends
Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced environments
Familiarity with prompt-based interaction and commonly used generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Midjourney, Perplexity) is advantageous
