Administer the Occupational Health Management System by ensuring compliance with internal, external, and legal healthcare standards.
Provide quality nursing care as determined by regulatory bodies in order to contribute to optimal healthcare.

Minimum Requirements
National Diploma or Degree in Nursing (B Cur / B.Sc.).
National qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
Primary healthcare qualification.
Valid Audiometric and Spirometry certificate.
Valid Dispensing license.
Valid Driver’s license.
2 Years relevant Occupational Health Nursing practical experience in managing an occupational health clinic in the mining or manufacturing sector.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance, management, and improvement of SHE processes and systems: Maintain a system for management of dispensary inventory, patient and employee medical information and history. ISO 14001. Ensure implementation and compliance to all ISO 14001 requirements that relate to your job.
Functional and strategic planning: Ensure that a plan exists and is adhered to for SHE and Risk Departmental Activities: SHE inspections, Risk inspections, Safety training, Training and Awareness Campaigns. Compile a schedule for statutory license and permit applications.
Management of SHE and Risk activities, audits and investigations, quality, changes and compliance: Conduct, facilitate or assist with accident and incident investigations. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled SHE inspections and audits. Support and participate in change management. Management of COID claims and return to work of injured people. Monitor and ensure compliance with respect to Occupational Health and Hygiene regulations. Ensure compliance to the recommendations arising from audits, inspections, investigations, and the arising Non-Conformances (NC) by following up with relevant personnel or HODs. Verify closure of NCs. Coordinate with First Aiders, training, and control first aid boxes.
Occupational and community healthcare: Implement a medical surveillance program, oversee entry- and exit-medicals conducted on all employees by service providers and administer medical records. Consult with, and diagnose patients, formulate a treatment plan or refer to external healthcare practitioners. Monitor patient condition and follow up with patients and external healthcare practitioners. Assist with occupational and community disease management (HIV, TB). Coordinate and liaise with the company doctor.
Communication and reporting: Implement a medical surveillance program, oversee entry- and exit-medicals conducted on all employees by service providers and administer medical records. Consult with, and diagnose patients, formulate a treatment plan or refer to external healthcare practitioners. Monitor patient condition and follow up with patients and external healthcare practitioners. Assist with occupational and community disease management (HIV, TB). Coordinate and liaise with the company doctor.
Communication and reporting: Communicate management information, incidents, accidents and audit or inspection findings to all relevant role players and employees. Participate in inter-departmental INVOCOMs. Ensure plans and targets, variances and action plans are discussed in INVOCOMs. Adhere to scheduled and unscheduled Training and Awareness campaigns through timeous and effective communication.
Inventory Management: Inspect health facility equipment and establish maintenance plans. Conduct stock-take of drug and medicine inventory and maintain a system for management and monitoring of inventory levels and expiry. Investigate and resolve discrepancies. Receive stock into the dispensary.
Management and liaison with external suppliers or service providers: Liaise with suppliers of drugs, medicine, and medical equipment, obtain quotes and manage the procurement of stock and direct purchases. Liaise with providers of Occupations Health services and external medical practitioners.
Internal Stakeholders: Promote establishing healthy, informative relationships with internal stakeholders – management and employees. Promote, within the department and business, a health and safety conscious culture and service delivery to internal customers.
External Stakeholders: Display professional conduct with external stakeholders, such as: other PPC site representatives (Head Office), local government, the community and service providers or healthcare practitioners.
