Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Packer/ General Assistant. The primary responsibility of the Packer/ General Assistant is to ensure that all products are properly sorted, stacked, packed and prepared according to company guidelines and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Pack according to specifications
Ensure that all products are properly labeled and coded for accurate tracking
Assist the operator with
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform basic troubleshooting and safely clear jams to ensure optimal performance
Inspect products for defects or damage before packaging
Assist with inventory management and stock control
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
Meet productivity goals and deadlines set by the supervisor
Communicate effectively with team members, operator and supervisor
Qualifications:
Minimum grade 10 certificate, but a Grade 12 will be an advantage
Previous experience in a production environment preferred
Ability to lift and move heavy objects such as pallet jacks
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and reliable attendance record
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Basic math skills for counting and recording inventory
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Must be able to work shifts and overtime
