Description

We’re looking for a detail-driven, organised, and people-savvy Payroll Clerk to support our Payroll Officer with the day-to-day magic behind payroll administration, time & attendance, leave processing, and employee master data maintenance.

What you’ll be doing

Time & Attendance Administration

Review daily Time & Attendance records and capture leave or absenteeism where applicable
Prepare absenteeism reports for management review
Assist with investigating and resolving T&A discrepancies
Process overtime, short time, leave, absenteeism, and hours worked documentation
Maintain the Time & Attendance system by adding new employees and removing terminated employees

Leave Administration

Capture and maintain leave information on the People 300 Payroll System
Monitor leave balances and identify irregularities or policy deviations
Import leave data into the T&A system and ensure payroll accuracy
Generate leave balance reports for management
Respond to employee leave queries and escalate where necessary

Employee Master Data

Maintain accurate employee records on the payroll system
Update and maintain shift registers
Capture and maintain union membership information

Access Control Support

Create and maintain employee access groupings on the T&A system
Assist employees with fingerprint reader enrolment and training
Troubleshoot and resolve access-related queries

General Payroll Administration

Scan, file, and maintain employee documentation
Prepare payroll packs and supporting documentation
Support the Payroll Officer with day-to-day payroll administration duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)

3 years’ experience in payroll-related administration, specifically:

Leave Administration
Time & Attendance
Employee Records Management

Bonus Points If You Have

A Certificate in Payroll Administration (NQF Level 5)

Experience working with:

Jarrison or similar Time & Attendance systems
People 300 Payroll System
Fingerprint enrolment/access systems
