Job Purpose:
To minimize stock losses and to maintain inventory record accuracy, by verifying stockeeping unit (SU) label information with the pyhsical charactistics of the product and to aacurately record the number of pallets per load received, whilst maintaining quality.
Key Responsibilities
Receive instructions from Supervisor/Manager on which load to check
Check load in line with SOP and update blind tally accordingly (pack code, quantity, expiry date, lot number)
Identify any items that are damaged – clearly endorsed on blind tally, bring to Supervisor’s/ Manager’s attention
Return blind tally to Warehouse Clerk or Supervisor for reconciliation back to inbound documentation
Ensure that all dates are checked and that any discrepancies are investigated
Ensure that all health and safety standards are maintained
Ensure all PPE is worn all the time
Liase with MHE Drivers and ensure all replens and put-aways are done
Receive labels after document has been captured on WMOS and label individual pallets
Ensure pallets are labeled correctly, double checking pack code and quantity
Confirm any discrepancies between blind tally and inbound document with Supervisor/Manager
De-stack pallets where necessary to ensure correct pallets configaration and quantities
Honesty and pride in his/her job
When carrying out duties, follow standard operating procedures and safe working practices
Ensure housekeeping in receiving area is up to standard
Timeous completion of task
Assist with stock count
Qualifications & Experience
Matric / Grade12
Tertiary qualification (Logistics, Business
Warehouse experience
SAP / WMOS exposure
Ability to work procedures and safety rules
Ability to read, understand and follow directions / instructions
Ability to count accurately and to perform simple math calculations
Have appropriate hand, eye and foot co-ordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment
