The Plant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all production processes operate reliably and efficiently to optimise output.
This includes effectively managing available resources—such as plant capacity, fleet utilisation, raw materials, and human resources,—to deliver high-quality products on time and in a profitable manner

Minimum Requirements    

Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

National Diploma or Certificate:

Concrete Technology
Civil Engineering
Production Management
Operations Management (Advantageous)
Concrete Technology Certification will be an added advantage
Minimum 3 to 5 years in the Ready-Mix / Concrete / Aggregates Production environment
Minimum 2 years as a Supervisor in a Production / Plant Environment.
Experience in concrete batching operations  / dispatch coordination
Knowledge of RMX production processed & Quality control standards
Understanding of concrete mix designs
Computer literate (Microsoft Word & Excel)
Experience in maintenance of fixed plant equipment (e.g. feeders, belt conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, etc.) and mobile equipment     

Duties and Responsibilities    

Ensure production processes run reliably and efficiently to optimise output.
Manage and coordinate production, administration, and maintenance activities.
Oversee plant and fleet utilisation, ensuring optimal use of equipment and resources.
Manage materials, stock levels, and related inspections to ensure availability and control.
Control the allocated budget and ensure adherence to financial constraints and forecasts.
Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and submitted timeously.
Enforce short interval controls in line with company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular plant walkabouts, inspections, and enforce housekeeping standards.
Ensure maintenance activities such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspections are performed.
Manage Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) programmes and compliance.
Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and worker-friendly environment.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain clear and effective communication with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
Lead, manage, and monitor the performance of direct reports.
Conduct performance reviews and regular one-on-one meetings with team members.
Address staff challenges, including HR and industrial relations matters, in line with labour practices.
Maintain discipline and take appropriate corrective or disciplinary action where required.
Coach, train, and develop employees, including on-the-job training and skills development initiatives.
Support recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of employees.
Approve leave and manage overtime in line with operational requirements.
Conduct regular team meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Ensure high levels of morale, integrity, and work ethic within the team.
Prioritise and execute plant projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work overtime when required to meet operational demands
