Basic Minimum Requirements: Matric or Equivalent
Tertiary Qualification: Relevent Tertiary Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transport Management (Advantageous)
Computer Literacy Level: Intermediate on MS Suite
Job Related Requirements:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data capture, manipulation and analusis
Ability to create clear, professional reports and presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for inventory and warehouse operations
Experience working with Transport Management Systems (TMS) for planning, execution, and tracking of transport activities
2-5 years relevant experience in:
Retail industry (Transportation Role)
Supply chain environment.
Customer Services with regards to dealing with all levels of functions from clients (internal & external) within a Warehouse and Transportation environment.
Transporter service level management
Strong understanding of warehouse and transport supply chain operations, with the ability to establish control and effect improvements between warehouse and transport to achieve client KPIs
Extensive operational knowledge of Inbound, Outbound, and Returns processes, including associated warehouse and transport workflows
Experience risk prevention and management, incidents, including contingency planning
Solid understanding of domestic and cross-border/international transport requirements, including export and import controls
High focus on compliance, ensuring adherence to policies, regulations, SOPs, work instructions, and documentation standards
Sound understanding of MRP and stock flow management principles
Proven ability in organising, directing, controlling, and monitoring operational activities
Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

Main Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Logistics Coordinator role is responsible for ensuring effective, accurate, and on-time execution of stock flow between warehouse dispatch operations and transport loading activities for all customers on responsible site.
The role acts as a control and governance function at the warehouse to transport interface, ensuring that processes are followed, risks are proactively managed, and service commitments are protected.
The position requires strong independence, operational authority, and the ability to challenge and influence teams across functions to secure stable, compliant, and efficient dispatch operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Control and coordinate daily operational flow between warehouse dispatch and transport loading activities
Act as the operational gatekeeper for warehouse loading readiness, vehicle on time arrivals for collections, dispatch sequence, and truck turnaround execution
Validate order availability, ex picking completion, staging, and loading accuracy prior to dispatch
Ensure adherence to DSV standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and service level agreements
Proactively identify risks related to stock accuracy, timing, capacity, safety, or process deviation
Stop, delay, or redirect operations where non-compliance or operational risk is identified
Drive corrective actions in real time in collaboration with warehouse, transport, planning, and support teams
Escalate operational issues with clear facts, impact assessment, and proposed countermeasures
Own and deliver continuous improvement initiatives focused on dispatch reliability, lead time reduction, and process stability for the scope of this role.

Objective: Stabilise operations, prevent recurrence of issues, and improve execution discipline.
Review weekly dispatch performance (on-time departure, accuracy errors, truck turnaround times)
Analyse recurring delays, stock discrepancies, and process non-compliance incidents
Conduct focused process reviews at the warehouse–transport interface
Engage with warehouse, transport, and planning teams to align on flow improvements
Validate that SOPs and work instructions are being applied consistently
Drive corrective actions for repeat issues (process gaps, training needs, capacity mismatches)
Participate in operational meetings to feedback risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities
Support implementation of agreed operational improvements
Track completion and effectiveness of corrective actions
Monthly Tasks (Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement)
Objective: Strengthen long-term operational reliability and risk control.
Review monthly performance trends across dispatch accuracy, service levels, and flow stability
Identify systemic risks impacting warehouse-to-transport execution
Contribute input to continuous improvement initiatives and operational optimisation projects
Assess SOP effectiveness and recommend updates based on operational reality
Support audits, compliance checks, and control reviews related to dispatch and transport interface
Provide data-driven feedback to management on constraints, risks, and improvement priorities
Participate in capability building discussions (training gaps, role clarity, accountability alignment)
Align with management on priorities to protect service and operational efficiency
