Description
Ecowize is looking for a skilled and competent Service Manager to join the Pest Control and Hygiene team in Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to provide technical support and leadership to all service colleagues within the division and ensure that the highest quality of customer service is provided
The Service Manager will ensure that all services are planned and completed in line with the client agreements signed and that all service colleagues have the correct equipment, PPE, and consumables to complete the services.
High-level Objectives:
Customer Focus on regular, meaningful interactions to drive an inclusive partnership which will ensure customer satisfaction and quality in service delivery.
Financial Focus on managing Business Development, profitability of branch by ensuring efficiencies and asset management. Expenses are to be within budget, reported accurately and timeously. Ensure continuous development and understanding of relevant financial processes for yourself and team.
People Focus on empowering, developing, and motivating teams and individuals to perform at their best through training initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Compliance Focus to ensure that all regulatory measures are consistently applied, in terms of Health and Safety, Food safety, Audit Standards and SAPCA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Excellence
Build strong, value-driven client relationships through regular engagement
Ensure all services are delivered in line with client agreements and quality standards
Resolve service issues, infestations, and customer complaints effectively
Conduct internal audits and support external customer audits
Review service reports and drive continuous improvement
Financial & Operational Management
Manage service costs, budgets, and branch profitability
Monitor productivity, overtime, and resource allocation
Drive operational efficiencies (route planning, reduced travel time, cost optimisation)
Oversee asset management, including vehicles, equipment, and stock control
Support business development by identifying leads and new revenue opportunities
People Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and motivate service teams to achieve performance goals
Conduct performance reviews, feedback sessions, and development plans
Ensure teams are properly equipped, trained, and supported
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, retention, and disciplinary processes
Deliver ongoing technical and SOP/SWP training
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and SAPCA regulations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date service documentation and IPM files
Oversee audit readiness and regulatory adherence
Manage EcoGSE system compliance and reporting
Ensure adherence to POPIA requirements for data protection
Requirements
Qualifications
Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
Pest Control Certificate with P-Registration (essential)
National Certificate in Pest Control (preferred)
Fumigation Registration (advantageous)
Experience
Proven experience in pest control technical services
Strong leadership and team management experience
Experience in HR-related processes and performance management
Understanding of operational and financial management
Knowledge of quality management systems (advantageous)
Project management experience (preferred)
