Key Competency Requirements
Nursing diploma/degree or Enrolled Nurse Certificate qualification and registered with SANC
Computer literate with Meditech knowledge is advantageous
Phlebotomy experience in a pathology environment essential
Pathology experience is highly advantageous which includes order of draw and running of Point of Care instruments i.e. Hemocue, Stratus & running of arterial blood gas on the machine
Client-focused with excellent attention to detail
Adaptability with the ability to co-operate within a team environment
Displays initiative
Problem-solving ability
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Compassion/empathy
Stress resistance and tenacity
Result-orientated
A positive attitude & flexible work-style
Must be fluent in English
Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends & public holidays
Must have an acceptable track record/performance record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
