Description

To ensure inspections, quality and subcontractor performance is in line with requirements of the track preventative and corrective maintenance through the effective planning and execution of the day-to-day activities of Track Maintenance.

Sound knowledge and experience of track standards, inspection cycles and maintenance practices
Sound knowledge of relevant safety regulations (Act 85 of OHSA)
Excellent understanding of track systems and components
Contractor management experience
Report writing experience advantageous
Strong administration skills and management of production outputs and planning
Knowledge of Movement Of Wayside Machines – principles, operations and scheduling
Good organisational and interpersonal skills
Sound verbal and written communication skills
Conversant with contract and project management principles
Valid C1 (Code 10) Driver’s License
Flexibility to work shifts
Willingness to be on standby
Physical fitness

Measurement / Key Performance Indicators:

Effective management of works orders
Effective inspections of track infrastructure and assets
Efficient incident and disaster management
Effective subcontractor management

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

Minimum Advanced Track Master Certificate (Permanent Way Artisan Qualification);
Minimum 10 years experience in Track Maintenance;
Minimum 4 years experience in a supervisory role; Track Inspector experience advantageous
