{"id":10021,"date":"2025-05-08T10:02:22","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T10:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/risk-manager-2\/"},"modified":"2025-08-09T00:25:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-09T00:25:22","slug":"risk-manager-2","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=10021","title":{"rendered":"Risk Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS<\/p>\n<p>Risk Management<\/p>\n<p>\tIdentifies\u00a0Key\u00a0Risk Indicators\u00a0(KRI)\u00a0and\u00a0tolerance\u00a0levels,\u00a0where\u00a0appropriate\u00a0in\u00a0respect\u00a0of major\u00a0risks\u00a0facing\u00a0the\u00a0bank\u00a0through\u00a0workshops\u00a0and\u00a0one\u00a0to\u00a0one\u00a0meetings\u00a0with\u00a0management and obtain Board approval<br \/>\n\tRecords\u00a0Risk\u00a0events\u00a0and\u00a0risk\u00a0indicators,\u00a0with\u00a0an\u00a0analysis\u00a0and\u00a0prioritise\u00a0actions\u00a0to\u00a0mitigate associated risks<br \/>\n\tEnsures that Risk Management Programmes are maintained and up to date with current developments\u00a0and\u00a0trends\u00a0within\u00a0the\u00a0industry\u00a0and\u00a0in\u00a0keeping\u00a0with\u00a0Group\u00a0policies\u00a0and\u00a0that they are appropriate for the bank.<br \/>\n\tDevelop\u00a0and\u00a0enhance\u00a0the\u00a0risk\u00a0management\u00a0framework,\u00a0policies,\u00a0and\u00a0procedures\u00a0specific to Islamic banking to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks.<br \/>\n\tMonitor and analyze internal and external risk factors and provide strategic recommendations to the executive management team and Board.<br \/>\n\tEnsure\u00a0compliance\u00a0with\u00a0regulatory\u00a0requirements\u00a0related\u00a0to\u00a0risk\u00a0management\u00a0and\u00a0Islamic banking principles.<br \/>\n\tImplement risk management tools and systems to facilitate risk identification, measurement, and reporting.<br \/>\n\tSpecific focus on credit, capital, liquidity and operational risk management. Other risk areas must be also considered especially in terms of its impact on the Bank.<br \/>\n\tTo\u00a0use\u00a0robotics\u00a0and\u00a0artificial\u00a0intelligence\u00a0where\u00a0possible\u00a0to\u00a0improve\u00a0risk\u00a0reporting.<br \/>\n\tTo ensure the Banks risk management policies such as its enterprise risk management framework, ICAAP, Recovery plan, RDARR framework etc are all updated and approved by the Board.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bank\u2019s Annual Risk Functional plan<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsures sufficient resource allocation is in place to ensure objectives of the plan is complete<br \/>\n\tManages risk report \/ assignment, ensuring pre-risk meetings with executive and\/or his manager, deadline dates, expected time requirements and completion dates<br \/>\n\tOversees the completion of risk monitoring and reporting\u00a0and ensuring clarification of risk measurement based on impact and probability are recorded appropriately<br \/>\n\tFollows up on risk matters requiring attention and making appropriate recommendation to mitigate risks, where appropriate.<br \/>\n\tDevelop\u00a0and\u00a0implement\u00a0the\u00a0annual\u00a0functional\u00a0plan\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0risk\u00a0management\u00a0department, aligning objectives with the organization\u2019s strategic goals.<br \/>\n\tSet key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management initiatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Regulatory<\/p>\n<p>\tManage regulatory requirements pertaining\u00a0specifically to risk management such as the implementation\u00a0and\u00a0continuous\u00a0embedment\u00a0of\u00a0Risk\u00a0Data\u00a0Aggregation\u00a0and\u00a0Risk\u00a0Reporting (RDARR).<br \/>\n\tAssist when required with regulatory presentations such as flavor of the year and prudential topics<br \/>\n\tEnsure the Bank has an update ICAAP\u00a0that takes into account the major risks facing the Bank and capital required to manage<br \/>\n\tAny\u00a0other\u00a0regulatory\u00a0requirements\u00a0that\u00a0may\u00a0require\u00a0risk\u00a0management\u00a0assistance\u00a0such\u00a0as Recovery Plan, Cyber resilience, Business Continuity, Climate risk etc.<br \/>\n\tImplementing\u00a0ABG\u00a0recommendations\u00a0on\u00a0credit,\u00a0liquidity\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0risk\u00a0areas\u00a0where necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy<\/p>\n<p>\tContribute\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0development\u00a0and\u00a0execution\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0organization&#8217;s\u00a0risk\u00a0appetite\u00a0and\u00a0risk tolerance framework.<br \/>\n\tProvide\u00a0strategic\u00a0input\u00a0to\u00a0senior\u00a0management,\u00a0executive\u00a0and\u00a0board\u00a0on\u00a0risk-related matters and participate in the decision-making process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fraud, Internal Controls and Insurance<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure the establishment and maintenance of robust internal control mechanisms to\u00a0mitigate risks and comply with regulatory requirements. Fraud, Internal Controls and Insurance<br \/>\n\tCollaborate\u00a0with\u00a0relevant\u00a0departments\u00a0to\u00a0assess\u00a0and\u00a0manage\u00a0insurance\u00a0needs,\u00a0ensuring adequate coverage for identified risks.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the bank has a comprehensive process in place to manage, monitor and mitigate internal and external fraud. Establish relationships with external service providers and use technology to monitor fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Staff Management<\/p>\n<p>\tLead\u00a0and\u00a0manage\u00a0a\u00a0team\u00a0of\u00a0risk\u00a0management\u00a0professionals,\u00a0fostering\u00a0a\u00a0high-performance culture and providing guidance on risk-related matters.<br \/>\n\tConduct\u00a0regular\u00a0training\u00a0and\u00a0awareness\u00a0programs\u00a0for\u00a0employees\u00a0to\u00a0promote\u00a0a\u00a0strong\u00a0risk management culture across the organization.
