Job Description<\/p>\n
\tOutsourced CFO is recruiting a Payroll Manager, who will oversee the operations of the payroll function within the Cloud Accounting Department. This role is responsible for ensuring that client expectations are met or exceeded, team members are effectively trained and upskilled, and the quality of services is maintained to the highest standard.
\n\tJob responsibilities will include, among other things:<\/p>\n
Client Service<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
\n\tDevelop and implement SOPs to document and address client needs effectively.
\n\tOversee the delivery of monthly and annual client deliverables with exceptional quality and timeliness.
\n\tEnsure technical oversight and compliance with payroll and tax laws and regulations.
\n\tProcessing of monthly payroll services for key clients and internal payroll<\/p>\n
Team Leadership and Development<\/p>\n
\tLead, mentor, and manage the payroll team
\n\tDesign and implement career growth plans and provide continuous professional development opportunities.
\n\tConduct regular performance reviews, offering coaching and constructive feedback.
\n\tEnsure processes are in place to build a culture of teamwork and excellence.
\n\tOversee recruitment and onboarding, ensuring the hiring of top talent (“A players”).
\n\tEnsure the process for managing and connecting with panel members is running smoothly and in place.<\/p>\n
Planning and Administration<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and evaluate monthly budget vs. actuals for accounting PODs, addressing variances.
\n\tDevelop, document, and enhance operational workflows for optimal efficiency.
\n\tEnsure adherence to all SOPs across service offerings.
\n\tCollaborate with the finance team to manage retainer and ad-hoc billing processes.
\n\tParticipate in Cloud Accounting leadership meetings, contributing insights and updates.<\/p>\n
Business Development and Client Onboarding<\/p>\n
\tBuild and nurture strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
\n\tActively identify and pursue opportunities to develop new client relationships, contributing to the department’s growth strategy.
\n\tOversee the client scoping and onboarding process to ensure smooth transitions and profitable engagements.
\n\tParticipate in sales and business development meetings, representing the Cloud Accounting department.
\n\tRegularly update and refine ideal client profiles, ensuring the team is aligned with the department’s growth objectives.
\n\tFoster a culture of value-driven upselling within the team, equipping them with the skills and processes needed to identify and propose solutions aligned with client needs.<\/p>\n
Operational and Resource Management<\/p>\n
\tMonitor team workflow, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet deliverables.
\n\tSupport PODs in planning and scheduling staff, ensuring clarity of roles and goals.
\n\tImplement and optimize technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
\n\tOversee administrative tasks, including client onboarding, offboarding, and internal reporting.<\/p>\n
Culture and Values Alignment<\/p>\n
\tPromote and uphold the company\u2019s core values, ensuring alignment across the team.
\n\tFoster a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, and continuous improvement.
\n\tActively participate in company events to strengthen team engagement and morale.<\/p>\n
Training and Development<\/p>\n
\tEnsure team members complete scheduled training sessions to enhance skills.
\n\tDeliver or facilitate training on technical topics and updated deliverables.
\n\tEngage with the technical team for guidance on complex tasks, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
\n\tPresent training initiatives to the Cloud Accounting team as needed<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tThe ideal candidate for this position will hold a Payroll Certificate or BCom Accounting Degree & 3 – 5 Years experience managing an cloud payroll practice<\/p>\n
