The Role<\/p>\n
\tAs the Warehouse Controller, you will operate and administer warehouse functions, including processing, storage and packaging of supplies, materials and equipment to ultimately meet key performance indicators.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Environmental Health and Safety\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAdheres to safety and environment policies and procedures
\n\tOperational Hazard Reporting
\n\tUphold safety culture.<\/p>\n
Executes warehouse operations\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tFollows correct process in the operational area at all times to achieve daily KPI\u2019s and to reduce operational risks.
\n\tMaintain high level of stock control and accuracy within the warehouse.
\n\tUses correct tools and materials safely in executing operational processes e.g. Forklift\/ Strapping Machine etc.
\n\tCompletes daily inspections on all equipment to ensure that equipment is safe to operate.
\n\tEnsure that all operational reporting is completed and made available via the relevant Sandvik systems.
\n\tReports all discrepancies on shipment orders, safety and other operational matters.
\n\tActively engage and partner with other internal Sandvik departments to provide timely feedback and responses on all Customer order queries.
\n\tParticipates in continuous improvement projects<\/p>\n
Key deliverables in area of responsibility:<\/p>\n
Handover\/Collections\/Export:<\/p>\n
\tAdheres to a high-quality standard on all shipments dispatched from the warehouse, such as order accuracy, physical condition and transport requirements i.e. glass, fragile items, chemicals, heavy loads and filters e
\n\tPreparing and monitoring of outbound staging areas.
\n\tControls flow of dispatch documentation, e.g. collections, handover and export paperwork.
\n\tControl all export compliance inspections with relevant authority body such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, Customs
\n\tConducts discrepancy investigations and provides feedback in a complete and timely manner on Order Collections, Load-Close\/Order Handover and export shipments.
\n\tMaintain strict documentation control and handover to Freight Administration daily for archive.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure orders are load closed on Prime log and continuously handed over to the Distribution Partner and transfer of ownership acknowledged.<\/p>\n
Allocations:<\/p>\n
\tConsistently Monitors Open Book to ensure that all pick notes are printed in a timely
\n\tmanner.
\n\tOversee order criticalities and ensure that they are assigned and picked on time
\n\tAllocate Pick Notes to the Pickers to commence with the Picking of Customer Orders.
\n\tConfirm Picks on the system as they are completed and handover the Pick notes to the pack station.
\n\tMonitor the unconfirmed Lines and report aging to the Team Leader.<\/p>\n
JP\/EX\/RT:<\/p>\n
\tProcess deliveries on the system in an accurate and timely manner.
\n\tMonitor the GIT report daily and ensure that it is up to date.
\n\tMonitor allocated order and ensure pick notes are printed in a timely manner.
\n\tAllocate Pick Notes to the Pickers to commence with the Picking of Customer Orders
\n\tOversee order criticalities and ensure that they are assigned and picked on time.
\n\tMonitor the unconfirmed Lines and report aging to the Team Leader.<\/p>\n
Handling and Storage:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor the daily inbound truck schedule.
\n\tEnsure vehicles are correctly positioned for safe loading and offloading
\n\tPreparing and monitoring of all Inbound and Outbound staging areas.\u00a0
\n\tControls the issue of diesel.
\n\tMonitors the battery charging station and conducts daily inspections.
\n\tControls are operational packaging materials and responsible for the packaging tracker.
\n\tInspects all Racking and Cantilevers and reports defects to Operations Managers.
\n\tMonitors space utilization and recommend optimal storage methods.
\n\tControls bulk and external storage areas to achieve optimal safety, storage and picking methods.
\n\tExecutes layout changes as approved by Operations Managers.
\n\tMonitors deviation cages to ensure that the correct process is being followed as aging items are actioned.<\/p>\n
Warehouse Team Control:<\/p>\n
\tProvision of backup support to all team members as required
\n\tProvision of on the job coaching and guidance as and when necessary
\n\tAnswering technical queries of team members as required<\/p>\n
Your profile<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ Equivalent qualification
\n\tA minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a warehousing\/distribution.
\n\tMS office skills \u2013 intermediate level
\n\tPrior exposure to ERP, WMS, TMS and EHS management systems (experience with Aurora and DI is beneficial)
\n\tExperience with flexible shift work & rosters<\/p>\n
