{"id":10172,"date":"2025-05-11T14:00:27","date_gmt":"2025-05-11T14:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/research-assistant\/"},"modified":"2025-08-12T00:24:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T00:24:15","slug":"research-assistant","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=10172","title":{"rendered":"Research Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Key Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Project implementation<\/p>\n<p>\tRecruit and receive referrals of high-risk men.<br \/>\n\tSchedule and arrange appointments for clients at the clinics<br \/>\n\tProvide comprehensive counselling to promote retention in line with Anova policies and guidelines<br \/>\n\tRefer the Not Yet Ready to the Social Auxiliary Worker after utilising the Adherence plan<br \/>\n\tPromote and facilitate PCa testing and facilitate partner disclosure using the PCa Screening Tool and actively refer for testing.<br \/>\n\tPromoting case finding for men.<br \/>\n\tSpecifically focus on men in line with Anova work plan.<br \/>\n\tProvide Adherence Counselling to men.<br \/>\n\tReferral of men to relevant services e.g. (Index Testing, PrEP, GBV)<br \/>\n\tRecruit and refer patients to I-ACT adult individual counselling or support groups<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder engagement<\/p>\n<p>\tAttend weekly Mens health Meetings.<br \/>\n\tAct upon the recommendations and outcomes of the Mens Health Meetings.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with Ward Based Outreach team, Dietician, Lay Counsellors and Clinicians for bi-lateral referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\tReport daily with numbers if men mobilised, linked to care<br \/>\n\tKeep an updated record of number of clients offered adherence counselling, linked into care, index testing and partner disclosure, I-ACT individual session and support groups, referrals in line with stationery used by and Anova.<br \/>\n\tAdhere to facility reporting format for data and report according to facility protocol.<br \/>\n\tReport as per agreed timelines to Mens health nurse at the facility or other Anova team members as required<\/p>\n<p>Administration<\/p>\n<p>\tBe available to work on weekends &amp;\/ or Public Holidays to provide mobilise recruit men and provide adherence counselling at facilities when required, a minimum of at least one Saturday per month (When required).<br \/>\n\tAttend Anova team &amp; staff meetings as required<br \/>\n\tTimeously complete and submit leave forms and timesheets as per Anova policy<\/p>\n<p>Engagement with Anova staff<\/p>\n<p>\tForm part of the facility team and work 8 hours daily according to their agreed upon starting &amp; finishing time<br \/>\n\tForm part of a multidisciplinary teams within Anova to promote 90% retention.<br \/>\n\tAdhere to &amp; respect the facility\u2019s mission &amp; vision<br \/>\n\tReport your absenteeism and any form of leave to both facility and Anova manager<br \/>\n\tLook presentable at all times, with your name tag on<br \/>\n\tAttend facility meetings as required to discuss Psychosocial related issues<br \/>\n\tAny other tasks as agreed with line manager.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required<\/p>\n<p>\tMatric certificate<br \/>\n\tHTS qualification<br \/>\n\tSocial Auxiliary Worker advantageous<br \/>\n\tBasic knowledge on prostate cancer.<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of hostels, etc.<br \/>\n\tMust be able to work independently and as part of a team.<br \/>\n\tGood oral and written communication skills.<br \/>\n\tAbility to manage relationships.<br \/>\n\tStrong organisational skills, including task and time management, ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet deadlines; and work without daily supervision.<br \/>\n\tCustomer orientation<br \/>\n\tProfessional conduct<br \/>\n\tGeneral knowledge of health education<br \/>\n\tGeneral counselling skills<br \/>\n\tListening skills<br \/>\n\tAbility to maintain confidentiality<br \/>\n\tEmpathy and understanding of issues of people living with PCa<br \/>\n\tFriendly and able to engage people<br \/>\n\tResults orientated\/goal driven<br \/>\n\tFlexible and resilient to change<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( https:\/\/www.anovahealth.co.za\/ ) or<\/p>\n<p>anovahealth.simplify.hr<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/anovahealth.simplify.hr","_company_name":"Anova Health Institute","_company_website":"https:\/\/www.anovahealth.co.za\/","_company_tagline":"\u00a0 The Anova Health Institute is an NGO that empowers people and changes lives.
