Position Summary and Primary Objectives:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tThe Assistant Financial Manager is a key member of the finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance, and plays a critical role in overseeing the financial health, and financial compliance within the telecommunications industry. They work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with financial regulations. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, vision, and guidance to the finance team, driving financial growth and operational efficiencies.<\/p>\n
Roles and Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Financial Reporting and Analysis<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly management accounts and assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements in compliance with industry standards.
\n\tAnalyse financial data to identify trends and variances.
\n\tAssist Head of Finance with preparing financial results and recommendations for presentation to the executive team and board, articulating financial performance and key metrics in an understandable format.<\/p>\n
Operational Financial Management\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tOversee accounts payable and receivable.
\n\tReconcile financial records and bank statements.
\n\tEnsure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
\n\tMaintain the control environment and sure policies, procedures and compliance are maximised<\/p>\n
Regulatory Compliance and Governance\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with financial regulations and standards specific to the telecommunications industry, including IFRS, and other regulatory frameworks.
\n\tAssist in external audits by providing necessary documents and explanations.
\n\tManage tax compliance, policies, and procedures<\/p>\n
Cost Control and Expense Management\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tIdentify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
\n\tHelp in expense tracking and ensuring budget adherence<\/p>\n
Team Leadership and Development\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n
Stakeholders<\/p>\n
\tAct as the primary point of contact for financial matters with internal and external stakeholders. Serve as a key liaison for financial matters, alongside the Head of Finance, in interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Skill Requirements and Personal Attributes<\/p>\n
\tA degree in Accounting.
\n\tAudit articles is highly advantageous.
\n\t5+ years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the telecommunications or technology industry.
\n\tStrong analytical and numerical skills, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations including telecommunications regulatory frameworks. Proficient in financial software and ERP systems, with key attention to detail and accuracy and excellent teamwork abilities.
\n\tGood written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.<\/p>\n
