We are seeking an experienced Logistics Controller \/ Export & Import Controller to oversee and coordinate all aspects of international logistics. This critical role ensures the smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders while optimizing shipping processes and maintaining accurate documentation.
\n\tYou will serve as the central point of contact for suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal teams, driving efficiency and operational excellence across import and export activities.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Import & Export Operations<\/p>\n
\tManage all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
\n\tLiaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport providers for efficient transportation.
\n\tEnsure compliance with all international trade laws, customs regulations, and internal policies.
\n\tTrack shipments and proactively resolve any issues or delays.
\n\tOptimize shipping routes and minimize transportation costs.
\n\tApply knowledge of HS Invoicing for accurate documentation.<\/p>\n
Customs & Compliance Management<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and verify import\/export documentation (invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations, certificates of origin).
\n\tEnsure correct HS code classification and adherence to trade compliance requirements.
\n\tWork with customs brokers and government agencies to expedite customs clearance.
\n\tStay informed about regulatory changes impacting international trade and customs.<\/p>\n
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination<\/p>\n
\tMonitor inventory levels to align with shipment schedules and business needs.
\n\tCoordinate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient handling, loading, and storage of goods.
\n\tOversee packing and labeling to meet both regulatory and customer-specific standards.<\/p>\n
Supplier & Customer Coordination<\/p>\n
\tMaintain clear and professional communication with international suppliers and customers.
\n\tCollaborate with procurement, sales, and finance teams to streamline logistics processes.
\n\tAddress and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to shipments or documentation.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
\n\tMinimum 3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or import\/export operations.
\n\tSolid background in customs clearance, trade compliance, and international shipping.<\/p>\n
Skills & Competencies<\/p>\n
\tStrong knowledge of Incoterms, import\/export documentation, and HS codes.
\n\tExperience with customs platforms (e.g., SARS eFiling, Asycuda).
\n\tProficient in ERP and logistics software (e.g., SAP, CargoWise).
\n\tExceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
\n\tComfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
\n\tSkilled in negotiation and cross-functional collaboration.<\/p>\n
Additional Requirements<\/p>\n
\tValid driver\u2019s license (if required for coordination purposes).
\n\tCustoms certification is advantageous but not essential.<\/p>\n
