Qualification<\/p>\n
\tMinimum: An internal auditing qualification or an undergraduate degree (BCom) in accounting, auditing or risk management as majors.<\/p>\n
Work Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum: A minimum of Four (4) to five (5) years auditing\/compliance experience in a medium to large firm.
\n\tPreferred: More than five years auditing\/compliance experience in a medium to large public firm within a development finance institution.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Financial Management<\/p>\n
\tPerform reviews of submissions to the Finance department before payments are effected, relating to the organizations investment\/grants to ensure funds that are disbursed by TIA comply with all its internal policies and procedures, in line with the approved project plan and budget, as well as in adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
\n\tPerform reviews submissions to the Finance department before payments are effected, relating to TIA\u2019s suppliers, independent consultants and other providers performing work on behalf of the organization.
\n\tIdentify compliance risks and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure payments adhere to internal policies.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Perspective\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with relevant stakeholders during the compliance review process, in order to support the organization to implement measures to manage risks and meet organizational targets.
\n\tAssist \u00a0 in ensuring that key outcomes from TIA reviews findings are discussed with TIA management wherever appropriate.
\n\tWork with different departments to ensure compliance measures are in place.
\n\tWork with business units to ensure that compliance-related mitigations are implemented, track progress on corrective actions, and provide support where necessary to strengthen compliance controls.<\/p>\n
Internal Business Process\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPerform compliance reviews of contracts, such as funding agreements, service level of agreements, memorandum of agreements, etc., as well as Board and other committee packs to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, and alignment with TIA\u2019s adopted governance and risk management principles and complies with external regulatory requirements.
\n\tPerform compliance reviews in accordance with the best practices and compile review reports that assist in decision-making, as well as investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions. \u00a0
\n\tIdentify internal control weaknesses and recommend improvements where necessary.
\n\tInterpret laws, regulations, and industry guidelines applicable to the organisation.
\n\tEnsure that compliance review findings are appropriately documented, tracked, and monitored for follow-up actions.
\n\tEnsure that information is recorded on the relevant system.<\/p>\n
Learning & Improvement<\/p>\n
\tMaintain \u00a0 and manage a non-compliances register with areas for improvements based on the outcomes of compliance reviews for continuous learning.
\n\tSubmit monthly reports to senior officials summarising the outcomes of compliance reviews.
\n\tProvide compliance awareness to employees based on the lessons learned.
\n\tKPA\u2019s should be understood and achieved as agreed upon in the Performance Agreement.
\n\tReview performance against agreed performance standards.
\n\tLive the values and culture of TIA.
\n\tImplement development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of work effectiveness and efficiency.
\n\tEnsure that relevant information systems and tools are optimally utilized to execute core tasks.<\/p>\n
