Duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement innovative research and postgraduate strategies.
\n\tIncrease post-graduate throughputs and publishing in scientific journals.
\n\tTeach postgraduate students in the relevant field. This includes lectures, tutorials, practical classes (preparation and presentation), assessments and seminars.
\n\tCoordinate and lecture modules in applicable field.
\n\tProvide clinical supervision of students within the applicable field and relevant fields.
\n\tProvide support for skills development within the applicable field and relevant fields.
\n\tRecruit senior students for postgraduate study.
\n\tProvide supervision for postgraduate research projects.
\n\tContribute to relevant development within the curriculum.
\n\tParticipate in community engagement initiatives.
\n\tPerform organisational and administrative duties.
\n\tMaintain a scholarly profile in line with Senior Lecturer\/Associate Professor appointment in an academic department.<\/p>\n
Inherent Job Requirements:<\/p>\n
Senior Lecturer:<\/p>\n
\tPhD on NQF Level 10 in Nursing.
\n\tRegistration as a nurse (General, Community, Psychiatry) and Midwife with the South African Nursing Council (attach a copy).
\n\tAdditional qualification in Nursing Education (attach a copy).
\n\tProven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Nursing.
\n\tProven experience in the presentation of papers at national scholarly conferences.
\n\tProven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
\n\tDemonstrate potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
\n\tProven experience in supervision of graduated masters’ degree students.
\n\tA proven research record of relevant publications in national and international accredited journals.
\n\tProven experience of service as an active member of a national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concerned with research at higher education levels.<\/p>\n
Associate Professor:<\/p>\n
\tPhD on NQF Level 10 in Nursing.
\n\tRegistration as a nurse (General, Community, Psychiatry) and Midwife with the South African Nursing Council (attach a copy).
\n\tAdditional qualification in Nursing Education (attach a copy).
\n\tProven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Nursing.
\n\tExperience as external examiner for postgraduate students.
\n\tProven experience in the presentation of research papers at national conferences, where there is evidence of peer review of papers.
\n\tProven national recognition for specialist expertise and research leadership in a specific scientific area of scholarship.
\n\tDemonstrate potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
\n\tProven experience in the supervision of graduated masters and\/or doctoral students. \u00a0 \u00a0
\n\tA proven research record of relevant publications in national and international accredited journals.
\n\tServe as a member of a national scholarly society OR a national committee or agency concerned with research at higher education levels OR show evidence of service as an active member of an international equivalent OR act as an editorial board member of high quality national scholarly journals.<\/p>\n
Recommendations:<\/p>\n
\tQualification in any field of specialisation will be an added advantage
\n\tExperience in grant writing.
\n\tNRF rated.<\/p>\n
