\tAs a Senior Software Engineer III in Client Engineering, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the transformation of Capitec\u2019s client domain. This group-level position involves overseeing the decommissioning of legacy systems, scaling event-driven architectures, and building cutting-edge backend services. You will contribute to shaping the broader strategic architecture and technical direction of Capitec, ensuring our systems are scalable, efficient, and robust enough to support the growing business.

Our ideal candidate has:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 National Certificate \/ Vocational
\n\tRelevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
\n\t6+ years\u2019 proven experience in backend software development with a focus on complex, large-scale systems.
\n\tDeep experience in full SDLC, agile methodologies, and cloud-native development.
\n\tProven expertise in designing and developing microservices and event-driven architectures.
\n\t\u00a0Advanced understanding of RESTful APIs, backend frameworks, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
\n\tSolid experience with Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration.
\n\tExpertise in database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and performance optimisation.
\n\tExtensive experience in mentoring and leading teams, with the ability to influence engineering culture and drive innovation.<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tExperience with .NET or COBOL for legacy-modernisation projects.
\n\tPrior exposure to legacy system decommissioning, system migrations, or domain-driven design.<\/p>\n
