Purpose of the Position:<\/p>\n
\tThe Finance Director will be the primary point of contact to oversee all financial aspects of the organisation. Responsible for the overall Financial Management for all projects across the organisation including: project bookkeeping, reporting, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, administration, sub-recipients\/sub-partners, payroll and staff management. Oversees the finance team, payroll team and the grants and compliance\/legal team.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tChartered Accountant CA(SA) or Honours degree in business management\/administration with a mix of relevant experience and;
\n\tstrong knowledge and experience of relevant legal frameworks.
\n\tMinimum 5 years experience in a similar position or management position.
\n\tExperience and knowledge of the public sector, specifically large international donors (CDC, USAID, Pepfar, Global Fund) (preferred).
\n\tClear criminal record.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Lead and manage finance, payroll, and compliance\/legal functions<\/p>\n
\tAct as a primary point of contact for all finance related tasks for the organisation.
\n\tDevelop policies aligned with the organisations goals and sound financial management practices.
\n\tProvide support to the board as an invited member to board and\/or sub-committee meetings.
\n\tWork closely and collaboratively with all interfacing departments and provide relevant guidance and monitoring where applicable.
\n\tContribute toward systems implementation, maintenance and improvements within support functions.<\/p>\n
Oversee Financial Management and Accounting<\/p>\n
\tCashbook processing and journals.
\n\tBank processing, reconciliations and reviews.
\n\tReconciliation of creditors and debtors.<\/p>\n
Oversee Auditing and Reviews<\/p>\n
\tSubmission of SARS returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF).
\n\tPreparation and execution of statutory organisational audits.
\n\tFunder specific audits.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management and engagement<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.<\/p>\n
Grants and Compliance<\/p>\n
\tOversee the accurate and timeous management of partners contacts, budgets, compliance and administration.
\n\tCreate a strong internal control environment that mitigates financial risks for the organisation.<\/p>\n
Oversee and Manage the Full Payroll Department and Function<\/p>\n
\tSupport the system development and system management to enable payroll to perform their duties.
\n\tMonthly review and sign off on payroll.<\/p>\n
POPIA Privacy Champion<\/p>\n
\tServe as the POPIA privacy champion for all relevant departments that are overseen.<\/p>\n
