\tOur client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure System Engineer to join their dynamic infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a hybrid IT infrastructure. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of system administration, networking, cloud services, with SQL skills being an advantage. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems, both on-premises and in the cloud.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
System Administration:<\/p>\n
\tManage and maintain servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
\n\tDevelop and implement monitoring and maintenance strategies to ensure the health and performance of IT systems.
\n\tEnsure infrastructure security by implementing best practices and compliance with industry standards.
\n\tDevelop and maintain disaster recovery plans and perform regular testing.
\n\tEnsure backup, recovery, and replicating infrastructure is performing optimally.
\n\tAutomate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
\n\tWork closely with development, operations, and other teams to support their infrastructure and database needs and ensure seamless integration.
\n\tEnsure infrastructure scalability and flexibility to adapt to growing business needs.
\n\tCreate and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and processes.<\/p>\n
Cloud Services:<\/p>\n
\tDeploy, manage, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure.
\n\tLead and support the migration of on-premises infrastructure and applications to Azure based on a fit-for-purpose model.
\n\tDevelop migration strategies and plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
\n\tExecute and oversee the migration process, including data migration, application rehosting, and infrastructure reconfiguration.
\n\tOptimize Azure resources and services for performance, cost, and security.
\n\tEvaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to improve business operations.
\n\tProvide guidance and best practices for using Azure services, including virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills:<\/p>\n
\tProficiency in Windows operating systems.
\n\tStrong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
\n\tExperience with virtualization technologies (VMware).
\n\tExperience with backup technologies (Veeam).
\n\tExpertise in cloud platforms (Azure & Microsoft 365), and cloud-based database solutions (RDS, Azure SQL Database).
\n\tProficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell).
\n\tExpertise in SQL database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting would be advantageous.
\n\tKnowledge of SQL database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
\n\tProficiency in Azure services, including virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking.
\n\tUnderstanding of the technology and cybersecurity landscape to ensure repeatable execution of key controls to protect and safeguard information.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems analysis, or a related study.
\n\tMinimum of 18 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a related role with a proven track record.
\n\tCertifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, or similar.
\n\tCertification in Microsoft Technologies (MCSE or similar).
\n\tCertification in VMware, Veeam, and other related technologies.<\/p>\n
