The Position<\/p>\n
\tThis role is suited to an intermediate software engineer who wants to do more than just deliver tickets. The team values developers who are eager to contribute to product thinking, user experience, and technical design. The role involves working with cross-functional teams product managers, UX designers, QA, and other engineers to build user-facing software thats thoughtful, scalable, and purposeful.
\n\tAlthough the work is remote, the team meets in person quarterly in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities \/ Duties:<\/p>\n
\tWrite clean, maintainable code based on agile product backlogs
\n\tCollaborate closely with UX and product teams to influence feature design
\n\tContribute to architecture and design decisions with the technical lead
\n\tSupport deployed software and respond to real-world use
\n\tRaise technical risks early and share solutions with the team
\n\tContinuously learn and improve individually and as part of the group<\/p>\n
Requirements to apply:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 2 – 5 years experience as a professional software engineer
\n\tRelevant degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
\n\tStrong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
\n\tExperience with one or more of the following:
\n\tCloud-based infrastructure (AWS or Google Cloud)
\n\tMobile development using Flutter and Dart, or native Android\/iOS
\n\tModern web frameworks (Angular, React, etc.)
\n\tRESTful or GraphQL APIs
\n\tRelational and NoSQL databases
\n\tCI\/CD pipelines and deployment tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
\n\tInterest in elegant code, thoughtful design, and collaborative delivery
\n\tPreference for developers who enjoy breadth and variety over deep specialization<\/p>\n
