Sustainability Consultant<\/p>\n
\tOur client, a well-established environmental consultancy firm based in Pietermaritzburg, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five (5) years\u2019 relevant post-qualification experience in environmental consulting, with a strong background in Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Water Use License Applications, environmental auditing, and Environmental Control Officer functions. Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams is essential.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBSc Honours Degree in an environmental discipline (MSc advantageous).
\n\tMinimum five (5) years\u2019 relevant environmental consulting experience.
\n\tRegistered with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA).
\n\tSACNASP Professional Registration.
\n\tDemonstrated experience in
\n\tBAs,
\n\tEIAs,
\n\tWULAs,
\n\tEnvironmental Auditing,
\n\tand ECO functions
\n\tProficiency in GIS software.
\n\tStrong scientific report writing and documentation skills.
\n\tExperience in proposal and tender compilation and management.
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of NEMA, the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998), and related legislation and guidelines.
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s License and own vehicle.
\n\tWillingness to travel extensively and work extended hours as needed.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and manage environmental applications and assessments including BAs, EIAs, and WULAs.
\n\tConduct environmental audits and perform duties as an ECO.
\n\tCompile high-quality scientific and technical reports.
\n\tLead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams.
\n\tLiaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
\n\tEnsure compliance with environmental legislation and internal procedures.
\n\tContribute to business development through the preparation of tenders and proposals.
\n\tMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and best practices.
\n\tProvide input into strategic planning and environmental risk assessments.
\n\tTravel to project sites as required.<\/p>\n
