A leading player in the Alternative Investments space is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join their team in Johannesburg.
\n\tAs the Risk Manager within this processive and thriving business, your primary goal will be to work closely with various teams, developing and implementing strategies that mitigate financial and other relevant risks while safeguarding investors’ financial interests.
\n\tThe ideal candidate for the Risk Manager role is a confident and self-motivated professional who excels both independently and in collaborative settings, consistently ensuring the successful achievement of targets.<\/p>\n
Key qualifications and experience required for the Risk Manager:<\/p>\n
\tFully Qualified CA(SA)
\n\tCFA qualificationis highly advantageous
\n\t5-7 years of experience in risk management
\n\tNB!!Must have experience working within thealternative investments space
\n\tExperience in developing risk-related models specific to Alternative Investments
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of investment risk, market dynamics and regulatory frameworks governing alternative assets
\n\tStrong proficiency in financial modelling, valuationsandanalysis
\n\tSystems knowledge:MS Office suite, particularly Excel, with advanced functions and macros<\/p>\n
Key duties of the Risk Manager:<\/p>\n
\tIdentify, assess, and manage the risks associated with Alternative Investments.
\n\tWork closely with investment, compliance, and operations teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
\n\tConduct in-depth analysis of risks associated with different investment strategies and asset classes.
\n\tPerform scenario analysis and stress testing to identify potential vulnerabilities.
\n\tEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
\n\tMonitor risk exposures of alternative investments on an ongoing basis.
\n\tProvide recommendations for portfolio adjustments based on emerging risks.<\/p>\n

\tStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities
\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex risk concepts for non-experts
