Malander is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant to hold the title of a Senior Manager: Group Consolidation and Financial Reporting on a contractual basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in getting the company ready for IPO to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. This includes refining the reporting and managing of the group consolidation, technical accounting, financial controls, system implementation and driving overall automation within the finance department. They will collaborate closely with various departments and regional teams to drive the IPO readiness across the Group.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Financial Consolidation:<\/p>\n
\tPreparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, including non-opcos.
\n\tEnsure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, or other applicable accounting standards.
\n\tManage the intercompany elimination process and address complex consolidation issues.<\/p>\n
Group Reporting:<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and present consolidated financial reports to senior management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
\n\tDevelop and maintain the group reporting calendar, ensuring timely submission of financial reports.
\n\tCoordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
\n\tEnsure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
\n\tEnsure Foreign exchange risks are appropriately reconciled and reported on to senior stakeholders monthly at minimum but escalated as foreign exchange risks arise.<\/p>\n
Non-Opco Reporting:<\/p>\n
\tOversee monthly reporting of non-opco financial packs.
\n\tReview monthly balance sheet recons for various non-opco companies.
\n\tReview the preparation of tax packs and journals relating to tax entries for non-opco entities.
\n\tReview the preparation and calculation impairments for all investments in the non-opcos (annually).
\n\tOversee and manage system changes related to non-opco ledgers.
\n\tLiaise with internal and external auditors for non-opco audits.
\n\tReview and approval of payments in accordance with Group DOA before submission for further signatures.
\n\tEnsure Foreign exchange risks are appropriately reconciled and reported on to senior stakeholders monthly at minimum but escalated as foreign exchange risks arise.<\/p>\n
Technical Accounting and Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and interpret new accounting standards and regulations, assessing their impact on the group\u2019s financial reporting.
\n\tImplement necessary changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
\n\tProvide technical accounting guidance to the finance team and other departments.<\/p>\n
System Implementation and Maintenance:<\/p>\n
\tOversee the implementation and maintenance of financial consolidation and reporting systems.
\n\tEnsure data integrity and accuracy within the consolidation system.
\n\tIdentify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline reporting.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership and Development:<\/p>\n
\tLead and manage a team of consolidation and reporting professionals.
\n\tProvide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members.
\n\tFoster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management:<\/p>\n
\tAct as the primary point of contact for consolidation and reporting matters within the organisation.
\n\tCollaborate with finance teams across different business units to ensure consistency in reporting.
\n\tCommunicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.<\/p>\n
Experience and Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CA preferred.
\n\t10+ years in accounting\/financial reporting, 5+ years in a leadership role.
\n\tStrong knowledge of IFRS\/GAAP, consolidation software, ERP systems, analytical skills, communication, and leadership abilities. Strong management skills.
\n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
\n\tSolution orientated.
\n\tHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail.
\n\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n
