Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tProvide clear and effective leadership, and direction to the nursing team\u00a0
\n\tOversee and manage staff performance to ensure high standards of care and professionalism are maintained.
\n\tProvide training and keep record of all completed training with staff
\n\tDevelop and implement individualized care plans for each resident.
\n\tConduct regular reviews and updates of care plans to reflect residents’ evolving health conditions.
\n\tEnsure care plans align with both medical and personal needs of residents.
\n\tMonitor staff compliance with care plans and established protocols.
\n\tConduct high-risk assessments and accurately document essential information.
\n\tUphold best practice methods and principles in all clinical tasks performed within the facility.
\n\tEnsure the safe and proper administration of medication by self and nursing staff, adhering to established medication management procedures.
\n\tEnsure medication is appropriately stored, and blister packs are managed according to procedures.
\n\tWhen required implement and maintain infection control protocols
\n\tManage the stock including the need to amend par levels or restock items in the supply cupboard.
\n\tFollow established policies in the event of emergencies, including calling Emergency Services as needed for the Healthcare Facility or Village.
\n\tAct according to patients’ living wills or advanced directives during emergencies or resuscitation efforts.
\n\tEnsure the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and families are promptly informed of any incidents or resident deaths.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tSANC registered as a Registered Nurse.
\n\tUp-to-date Basic Life Support certification is advantageous.<\/p>\n
Experience and Knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tProven experience as a Shift Leader \/ Unit Manager\u00a0
\n\tExperience in a similar leadership position is advantageous.
\n\tKnowledge of Dementia care, Frail care, and Palliative care is advantageous.
\n\tProficiency in organizing and delivering training sessions for staff development.
\n\tExperience in scheduling and managing staff shifts.<\/p>\n
Skills and Attributes:<\/p>\n
\tClinical Expertise: Strong clinical skills and experience in nursing practice, including assessments, treatments, and patient care.
\n\tLeadership skills: Ability to lead a team of nurses and healthcare staff effectively, ensuring smooth operations during shifts.

\n\tProblem-Solving: Capability to make critical decisions, solve complex problems, and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
\n\tAdaptability: Flexibility to handle changing circumstances and adapt quickly to new protocols or procedures.
\n\tTeam Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
\n\tAbility to effectively manage a nursing unit’s daily operations.
\n\tSkilled in addressing and correcting staff behaviour or performance issues.
\n\tTime Management: Efficiently manage time and resources during shifts to prioritise patient care and operational tasks.<\/p>\n

Working Hours:<\/p>\n
\tNormal working days are Monday to Sunday.
