\nOBJECTIVES<\/p>\n
Main function of the Job<\/p>\n
\tMonitoring and maintenance of all Data Centre critical infrastructure
\n\tPerforming planned \/ preventative \/ predictive maintenance of all infrastructure
\n\tFault detection of critical infrastructure
\n\tSwitching and isolation of MV and LV equipment
\n\tInstalling and commissioning of new plant
\n\tDaily walk arounds and inspections of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment
\n\tWiring of electrical control panels
\n\tOffering technical support at Data Centre by performing system\/network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in order to ensure optimum operations.
\n\tCarrying out preventative maintenance of data center equipment and devices.
\n\tMonitoring system processes to ensure smooth operations.
\n\tEvaluating heating and cooling systems to ensure they are operational and can meet equipment temperature conditions.
\n\tComply to working methods ensuring that all client SLA and MSA\u2019s are achieved
\n\tMonitor customer network servers and storage systems to ensure uptime and efficient resolution of issues<\/p>\n
Compliance<\/p>\n
\tMaintain compliance in accordance to all relative policies and procedures
\n\tMeet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement)
\n\tHealth & Safety monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance and company\u2019s objective of zero tolerance to unsafe work practices<\/p>\n

\nSkill Requirements<\/p>\n
\tGood technical abilities
\n\tEffective communication skills, active listener, ability to understand requirements and be able to explain complicated technical process in a simple to way to non-technical staff is a requirement for successful data technicians
\n\tData Technicians often develop standard operating procedures and manuals for the networks they are in charge of
\n\tProactive problem solver, perform rapid and accurate assessments
\n\tAbility to work independently, as well as being a positive team player
\n\tSelf-motivated
\n\tConducts self professionally, exhibits elevated levels of tolerance and patience
\n\tResponsible for continued learning and self-development
\n\tQuick response to potentially critical situations
\n\tTrouble shoot systems and components to identify root causes of failures
\n\tImplement corrective actions promptly to mitigate the negative effects of system changes
\n\tGood Microsoft Office skills<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Qualified Electrician<\/p>\n
\tA minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
\n\tRelevant data centre experience preferable
\n\tGood knowledge on Data Centre environments and critical infrastructure systems preferable<\/p>\n
