Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that legal requirements, codes of practices, group standards, procedures and policies are updated, implemented, adhered to and that changes to legal requirements are communicated
\n\tOptimise planned maintenance in support of production targets through providing technical expertise to the mining operation teams, co-ordinate planned maintenance and major overhauls \/ shutdowns and investigate, monitor and eliminate causes of breakdowns
\n\tEffective people management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability
\n\tEffective project management of engineering projects and Asset Optimisation initiatives, ensuring best practice research, implementation and knowledge sharing
\n\tFinancial budgeting & management
\n\tEffectively manage contractors and suppliers relationships, ensuring compliance to Seriti standards<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tDegree\u00a0or\u00a0National Diploma in Electrical \/ Mechanical Engineering
\n\tGovernment Certificate of Competency (GCC)
\n\tCompleted a structured Engineering Internship program or minimum 5 years of experience as a General Engineering Superintendent and\/or Engineering Foreman
\n\tSolid experience in managing UG production inbye and outbye sections machinery in a coal mine
\n\tIn depth understanding of relevant safety and mining legislation including: The Mine Health and Safety Act; Minerals and Energy Acts
\n\tAn in-depth knowledge and understanding of technical engineering aspects such as OEM\u2019s and SABS \/ SANS standards
\n\tA good knowledge of machinery and equipment used on the relevant operations
\n\tFlameproofing and gas testing knowledge
\n\tUnderstanding of engineering best practices and new technologies relating to relevant engineering principles & processes
\n\tUnderstanding of Environmental standards
\n\tProven technical and maintenance management capability
\n\tProject management and report writing skills
\n\tProven supply chain management knowledge
\n\tKnowledge of SAP maintenance and supply chain modules
\n\tComputer literacy (MS Office)
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tRegistered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
\n\tMembership of any other South African Engineering Association
\n\tManagement Development Programme or the equivalent<\/p>\n
